Hole 14

The fourteenth hole is the 'signature' hole of Wedgefield Plantation. It is not a trick hole but it requires a surgeon's accuracy, nerves and concentration. Standing on the back tees, the golfer is faced with a generous landing area that rolls off to the right. A perfectly placed 200 yard tee shot will leave a long iron or wood to a long, narrow 2 tiered green. From the forward tees, the golfer may elect to carry the water to the left setting up a reasonable second shot or take a more conservative lay up down the right side of the forward landing area, thereby, virtually making this a three shot par four. Number 14 is a superb par four and a score of five is never considered unrespectable.
